Safety checklist

Most losses are not “hacks”—they’re social engineering. Use this checklist every time.

The non‑negotiables

  • Never share seed phrase/private key. Not in chat. Not on calls. Not in forms.
  • Type URLs manually for exchanges and wallets. Avoid random ads/DM links.
  • Review approvals before signing transactions. Unlimited approvals can be dangerous.
  • Test with small amounts before sending large values to new addresses/apps.
If anyone pressures urgency (“do it now or funds will be lost”), stop. That’s a common scam pattern.

Phishing patterns to recognize

  • “Verification required” pages asking for seed phrase
  • Fake “support” accounts commenting on posts
  • Look‑alike domains with one changed letter
  • QR codes that open unknown signing requests

Safer device habits

  • Use a password manager and unique passwords
  • Enable 2FA (avoid SMS where possible)
  • Keep your OS and browser updated
  • Use a hardware wallet for larger balances

What you can safely share for help

Share only public, non-sensitive data:

  • Public wallet address
  • Transaction hash
  • Error screenshots (no secrets visible)
  • Network/chain name
